Peer Education Basic Training Weekend

A fun filled weekend where you will make new friends, develop new skills and improve your confidence.

Who and what are Peer Educators?

Peer Educators are trained members between 14 and 25 who run sessions for Brownies, Guides and Rangers.

They also work with other youth groups or schools. These sessions focus on issues or skills that are important to them and their peers such as:

• Mental well-being
• Body confidence
• Gender stereotypes
• Relationships
• Confidence & assertiveness

How do I become a Peer Educator?

To gain the skills required to become a Peer Educator you need to complete the following. 

• Peer education e-learning
• Safe space training for 14-17year olds or safe space levels 1 & 2
• Attend a Peer Education Basic Training Weekend
• Watch the Breaking Free topic video and complete the quiz.

Members under 18, please note that you can only be a Peer Educator if you have an active Ranger or Young Leader role.

Booking terms and conditions apply. As per section 8 of the booking terms and conditions, if you simply do not attend or provide us with a notice to cancel less than 7 working days before the event date, we reserve the right to require you to pay us any costs we reasonably incurred in relation to your attendance at the Event.

Accessibility Information

• This event will be nut free so please ensure that you do not bring any nuts with you.
• This event will be fragrance free, so we politely ask that you do not wear any perfume.
• Refreshments and meals will be provided, however if you would prefer to bring your own, please indicate this when booking. All dietary requirements will be catered for.
• Straws and accessible two handle mugs will be available if required.
• Carers are very welcome to attend and will be provided for. Please let us know when booking that you will be bringing a carer and any adjustments and support you require from us.
• When you book you will have the option of entering your pronoun. 
• Finances should never be a barrier to taking part in Girlguiding training. Please check with your unit, district, division, and county/island to see if they can offer any financial help. Also check the following links to grants that are available:
