Welcome to Girlguiding

Welcome to Girlguiding

The Warm Welcome is designed to ensure every new adult member feels informed, inspired, and supported as they begin their Girlguiding journey. It aims to:

Introduce the Girlguiding Structure

Help new volunteers understand how our organisation is built—from sections and districts to divisions, counties, and the region team—so they can see the scale and impact of the movement they’re joining.

Highlight Training and Opportunities

Share information about available training, exciting opportunities like INTOPS, and the many ways volunteers can get involved at local, national, and international levels.

Support Their Volunteer Journey

Provide guidance on key platforms and processes, including GO, DBS checks, Safer Guiding, and references—ensuring they feel confident and well-prepared.

Celebrate Personal Growth

Emphasise how volunteering can support personal development, offering valuable skills for CVs, unforgettable trips and events, and lifelong friendships.

Share Our Values and Support Network

Communicate the warmth, inclusivity, and values at the heart of Girlguiding, and signpost where volunteers can go for help, advice, and encouragement throughout their journey.
