Are you ready to take your unit on an international adventure? Get ready to pack your bags and experience the ultimate city-wide challenge!

If you have thought about offering an international adventure to your unit but are unsure where to start this, this might be the trip for you. The region international team will hold regular online calls to help guide you through planning your adventure and will then be on hand in Amsterdam to give you that extra bit of confidence if it’s your first time.

If you don’t already hold your travelling abroad licence this is the perfect chance to work towards it, build your confidence, try something new and start planning your next international adventure.

If you aren’t quite ready to take that step with your unit why not join us as an adult team, it will also be a fantastic opportunity to practise planning ready to deliver an international adventure of your own.

What is Avontuur Amsterdam?

A one-day city-wide game inspired by cityscapes in Portsmouth. Your team will navigate famous landmarks, solve challenges, explore Amsterdam, and connect with other members from across our region.

The game will run on Sunday 24 October 2027 between 10am – 4pm, teams should have 4 to 8 members plus leaders. We have designed this adventure for the Guide and Ranger age group but believe it would be just as fun for a group of adults and provide an opportunity for you to practice designing your own trip.

Your unit gets to custom-build your trip to suit your budget and style, so you will be;

• Choosing how you travel: fly, hop on a train, or take a coach!
• Choosing where you stay: pick your own hostel, hotel, or group accommodation.
• Choosing your duration: head over for a long weekend or build an entire half-term itinerary around the wide game.

Cost

£20 per person, paid by online payment at the time of booking. 

The event fee is non-refundable.

Accessibility Information

• Carers are very welcome to attend.
• When you book you will have the option of entering your pronoun. 
• Please be aware that there may be flash photography at the event. Please let us know when you book if this will cause you a problem.
• Finances should never be a barrier to taking part in Girlguiding events and activities. Please check with your unit, district, division, and county/island to see if they can offer any financial help.
